Hello! I’m Nick, a passionate photographer based in Northwest Indiana. I found a love for hiking, the outdoors, and photography somewhat late in life. I didn't pick up a camera until I was 29, and I'm now trying to make up for lost time. Whether it’s the rolling dunes along Lake Michigan, the tranquil forests of the Midwest, or the vast beauty of our country’s national parks, my work is inspired by nature’s ever-changing canvas, and fueled by a urgency to see and experience as much as possible before the whole planet is paved with data centers.
Photography has been my way of preserving the beauty I encounter on hikes and adventures. I strive to take images that evoke a sense of wonder and connection to the world around us. For the last 6 years I have been lucky enough to share these experiences with my beautiful wife Janelle. I believe that every photograph tells a story, and I’m honored to share my perspective with you.
When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll find me planning my next national park trip, playing with our dog Maple, or doing some DIY project around our house. And until my dreams of quitting my day job come true, for 40 hours a week I am also a test engineer at an electronics manufacturer here in Indiana. I am lucky enough to get 4 weeks or so of freedom a year to explore our National Parks.
Thanks for stopping by — I hope my images inspire you to explore, appreciate, and protect the natural world. Let’s connect! Feel free to reach out for collaborations, prints, or just to chat about all things photography and adventure.
Smell ya later,
Nick
